Sandip University Aligns Education with AI, Industry Skills to Prepare Students for Future Jobs
As AI, cybersecurity and automation reshape employment, Sandip University is combining technology-focused courses, industry partnerships, internships and career training to prepare students for emerging job opportunities and changing workplace demands.
According to the World Economic Forum’s Future of Jobs Report 2025, technological advancements will play a major role in shaping the global job market through 2030. The report also highlights the importance of technology-related expertise alongside human capabilities, including analytical thinking, creative thinking and adaptability.
As India transitions towards an AI-driven economy, upgrading workforce skills through appropriate education and training programmes is becoming increasingly important. The NITI Aayog Roadmap for Job Creation in the AI Economy highlights the need to strengthen AI skills, including AI in education, and promote collaboration among the government, universities and businesses.
In line with these priorities, Sandip University is developing an educational environment that combines technology-based learning, industry exposure, hands-on training and personal development to help students prepare for changing employment requirements.
The university is integrating emerging technologies, including artificial intelligence and machine learning, into its academic programmes. Its B.Tech in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning programme covers artificial intelligence, machine learning, natural language processing, intelligent agents and cognitive modelling, connecting these concepts with real-world technological applications.
The university also offers academic programmes in cybersecurity, cloud technologies, virtual reality and other technology-driven disciplines. These courses are intended to help students develop specialised knowledge aligned with changing industry needs.
Industry collaboration is another component of Sandip University's approach to education. The university has established corporate associations that provide opportunities for training, internships, digital learning, certifications and industry exposure.
Through its corporate tie-ups, the university collaborates with organisations including Capgemini, Edunet Foundation through the IBM Skill Build programme, Infosys Springboard, Xento Systems and RPG Foundation–Zensar Technologies.
These collaborations support student training, on-campus internships, industry site visits, internship programmes, skill development initiatives and digital certification opportunities. The initiatives are designed to help students connect academic learning with workplace expectations.
Practical experience also forms part of the university's approach to career preparation. Sandip University's Career Development Cell focuses on increasing technology awareness, improving communication skills, developing soft and life skills, and guiding students on higher education and career opportunities.
The university also seeks to strengthen students' professional capabilities through field trips, workshops, industrial visits, guest lectures, university clubs, hands-on training and compulsory internships. These activities allow students to reinforce classroom learning while developing communication, interpersonal, leadership, interview and other professional skills before entering the workforce.
Alongside technical expertise, the university emphasises capabilities that support long-term employability. The World Economic Forum's Skills Outlook 2025 identifies analytical thinking, creative thinking, resilience, flexibility and agility, together with technological literacy and expertise in AI and big data, as key competencies for the changing labour market.
Sandip University's Career Development Cell provides training in communication, leadership, group discussions, interview preparation, soft skills and emerging technologies. The initiative aims to develop a combination of technical and interpersonal capabilities that students can apply in professional settings.
The university is also focusing on innovation and entrepreneurship as part of its preparation for future employment opportunities. Its research and innovation ecosystem is designed to support research-oriented and innovation-focused activities alongside conventional university teaching.
Through its entrepreneurship and innovation initiatives, the university enables students to develop ideas, solutions and business models, with the aim of bringing their ventures to market. Emerging technologies are expected to support new applications, business models and job opportunities across various sectors.
As the employment landscape continues to evolve, the university's approach brings together technology-focused academic programmes, industry partnerships, internships, professional skills training, certifications and innovation opportunities.
The objective is to create a learning environment that helps students adapt to changing workplace requirements rather than preparing them solely for their first job. By combining technical knowledge, practical experience and transferable skills, Sandip University aims to equip students to continue learning and developing as technologies, professional roles and business operations change.
